Details on sights:

The Task Force Smith Monument marks the place where American soldiers first engaged North Koreans in the Korean War. There both sides discovered the truth in Von Claswitz's saying, "God is on the side of the heavy battalions." The Americans brought their confidence and reputation as Hitler and Tojo bashers. The North Koreans came in the latest Russian tanks. Each summer Korean and American soldiers gather to jointly cheer "Remember the Alamo!", then proceed to the Onan nariban to sing the Davy Crockette Theme Song. You pass this monument every time you take the bus to Song Tan. This is an opportunity to see it up close.

From Fodor's Guide to Korea:

"On the outskirts of Onyang is one of Korea's finest folklore museums. From a cultural viewpoint, this is one of the major attractions of the west plain coastal area, and we recommend that you allow several hours for a visit. Some 14,000 folk crafts, paintings, and a private collection are on display, and an effort has been made to provide written explanations in English.

"Onyang is a favorite honeymoon site, and the hometown of Admiral Yi Sun-Shin. There is a shrine, Hyonchungsa, in his honor in Onyang." This is a beautiful park, and the cherry blossoms should be peaking there next week.
