This is a first contact story. It takes place in an Earth future that does not have FTL space travel, but does have intelligent cyberbeings, who are called creations. In this story an Earth creation which has just entered another star system makes two significant discoveries: an instantaneous communications system, using something called Z-Rays, and a hostile alien interstellar war machine!
