The intention of this story is to portray an alien who is just too creepy and too dangerous for mankind to deal with.
They would come, they would see, they would cut bait.
Do I succeed?
Just as parasitic disease is an inevitable consequence of the evolution of organized multicellular life, I suspect we will find that every civilization carries within its evolution the seeds of its own destruction.
And in some cases, those seeds must succeed in growing and bearing fruit.
