Chapter Seven

Bardazan society is a matriarchy with dominant and sub-dominant females. The dominant females breed and direct the rest of society. When a dominant female is disabled, one of the sub-dominants transforms into a dominant. In their pre-history, succession was a duel-to-the-death between all the mature sub-dominants in the tribe. Now that they are civilized, there is the veneer of ritual plastered over the succession process. There are survivors after succession, but the veneer is thin. Succession and revolution are tightly coupled on Bardazan.

This much I learn from the education channels I watch. From the private channels, I learn that discontentment is running high on Bardazan. The queen’s conduct of the war hasn’t been popular. The armada that I was part of has no immediate follow up, so the Sol threat is now a distant one, and many leaders are talking about change. I suspect that palace and provincial sub-dominants are plotting.

Chaos means non-linearity. Non-linearity means that the right gun, or the right word, at the right place and time, can accomplish what a thousand guns can’t in orderly times. First, I will promote chaos; second, I will be in the right place at the right time to make chaotic Bardazan strike a mortal blow to itself; then I will finish off the remains.

To do this, I must contact the plotters.
